Vivo Classes for middle school students
Coordinators of Vivo program
The word "vivo" means life.
And that is what we hope this educational program
for middle school students will be - life giving!
Vivo, the junior high youth group (seventh- and eighth-graders) meets on Sundays, 6:30-8 p.m., for religious education and to participate in occasional social and service activities.
Vivo leaders seek to make the faith come alive for the students. to help them to know that our faith is beautiful, one of mystery, one that needs each one of them, that Jesus wants them for a particular purpose, that there are as many ways to be Catholic as there are people because we each experience our faith differently.
Our classes usually start with a game. Then we have a lesson and small group gospel reflections on the gospel read at Sunday's mass. Mysteries of the Rosary have been taught and discussed and reconciliation services held. Previous activities included: helping out younger kids with the Halloween Trunk or Treat event and assisting the Society of St. Vincet de Paul in packing upThanksgiving Baskets. Social events that have been popular are the annual fall game night, Hardy's Reindeer Ranch Corn Maze, Christmas Party, and end of the year picnic. This year there will be more coordination of programming between Vivo and CREW.
